ObXidian™ coated nozzles are exceptionally wear resistant compared to other products on the market and significantly outperform other hardened nozzles. Improvements in 'exotic' engineering filaments mean that some new materials which include aggressive fillers, including but not limited to Polymaker's PolyMide range (PA612-CF, PA6-CF, PA6-GF and PA12-CF), can cause significant wear on even ObXidian nozzles. E3D is actively developing even more specialist solutions for these materials. In the meantime please be aware that even the rainbows and unicorns in your ObXidian nozzle are not everlasting under extreme material conditions.
Upgrade Guides
Assembly Guide
Your upgrade kit will have the following components:
- 1 x Bambu Lab High Flow ObXidian HotEnd 0.40 mm or 0.60mm
- 1 x Thermal Grease
- 1 x Bambu Lab Sock
- 1 x Bambu Lab Heater Retaining Clip
- 2 x Bambu Lab Bolts
During this upgrade, you will need:
- 1 x 2.0mm hex key
Note: Make sure to apply the thermal paste on the nozzle, especially where the heater and the thermistor cartridge's hole are located.
- Disassemble the stock Bambu Lab hotend by following the official Bambu Lab guide. Carefully remove the electronics as you will need them for this upgrade.
- Add some thermal paste into the thermistor hole.
- Insert the thermistor cartridge in its allocated hole, and pass the wires through their channel on the heatsink.
High Flow ObXidian™ E3D HotEnd has a different location for the thermistor cartridge's hole compared to the stock one due to the High Flow technology.

- Apply thermal paste to the side of the heater pad that contacts the block to ensure effective thermal transfer.
- Place the heater on the nozzle, and pass the wires through their channel on the heatsink.
- Place the Bambu Lab heater retaining clip around the heater and the thermistor wires.
- Be mindful of the retaining clip's orientation so that you don't damage the thermistor wires!
- Put on the Bambu Lab Sock.
- Place the fan on the heatsink and tighten both screws using a 2.0mm hex key.
- Be aware of the fan's orientation; the sticker should be inward!
