Hi! I’m David Randolph and I’m the owner of Printed Solid Inc. We’re located in Newark, DE, USA and we’re a reseller for high-end 3D printers, filaments, and accessories, as well as a manufacturer of our own line of filament and 3D printer enclosures. We’ve been in operation since 2015.

How did you get into 3D printing?

I’ve been involved in 3D printing since 2008 while I was living in San Francisco. I’d spend most of my time in the various makerspaces and hackerspaces. I fondly remember attending a midnight party on November 1st 2009 to celebrate the expiration of patent US5121329A (an apparatus and method for creating three-dimensional objects, aka a 3D printer).

What’s the benefit of partnering with E3D?

Partnering with E3D means I can supply my customers with E3D products, which is a cornerstone of what makes Printed Solid what it is today. We’re known for giving the right answers and right solutions for 3D printing and I don’t think we can do that without E3D.

The nozzles! With all the different sizes and materials and options, everyone loves playing with them and consistently pushing their printers to the limits.

Which E3D product is your personal favourite?

So far, I love the V6. It’s so used in the world that it has been tested more than any other HotEnd in the industry. In my view, it should be considered the measuring stick for any 3D printing HotEnd.

In your opinion, what’s the best thing about working in the 3D printing industry?

The customers. They vary from people with no technical background whatsoever to experts in almost every field to education and government clients. There is no such thing as a normal 3D printer customer, and I like it that way.

Most important question: when things are back to normal, when can you visit us and what drink can we get you? 

When the weather is nice over there I’m a big fan of Irish whiskeys!
