Revo CR Summary
- Max Printing Temperature: 300°C
- Mass: 30g
- Temperature sensor type: Creality thermistor
- Motor voltage: 12V or 24V
- Wattage: 40W
- Filament Diameter: 1.75mm
Performance Characteristics
- Maximum ambient printing temperature (PLA): 40°C
Volumes & Dimensions
Mounting
- Mounting type: M3 x 0.5
- The screws from your existing Creality HotEnd can be used to mount Revo CR.
Cable Orientation
- Turn Revo HeaterCore anti-clockwise to orient cables. Turning clockwise will cause the spring to disengage.
Connections
- Heater: Molex Micro-Fit 3.0, 2 pin horizontal
- Temperature sensor: Molex Micro-Fit 3.0, 2 pin horizontal
- Assembly is supplied with 1m cables to connect to mainboard
Assembly Guide
| A. 1x Collet | D. 1x Spring | G. 1x Thermistor extension cable |
| B. 1x Collet clip | E. 1x HeaterCore | H. 1x Heater extension cable |
| C. 1x Revo CR Heatsink | F. 1x Revo Nozzle | I. 4x Butt Splice connector |
- Attach the spring to the groove on the bottom of the Heatsink.
- Attach the HeaterCore to the HeatSink and spring assembly. (A slight twisting motion may be required.)
- Screw the Nozzle into Heatsink, it should slide freely through the HeaterCore.
- There is no need to use tools, this step should be done using your hands only. Hot-tightening is also not required.
- If you are following this guide to change nozzles after use ensure the assembly has cooled down to below 50°C before attempting this step!
- Insert collet and collet clip into the top of the HeatSink.
- Attach the Heater and Thermistor extension cables.
Revo CR Compatibility List
Revo CR must be a drop-in-replacement to be included on this list.In other words: no firmware changes or printed parts should be required for the upgrade.
Revo CR has the same length (mounting point to the nozzle) as the stock HotEnds, and so can be considered a drop-in replacement, on the following printers:
- Ender 2 Pro
- Ender 3/3S/3 Pro/ 3 V2
- Ender 5/ 5 Pro/ 5 PLus
- Ender 6
- CR10/10s/10 S4/10 S5/10 Mini
This is not an exhaustive list, we will add to it once we have confirmation of compatibility with other Creality machines. Just because a printer isn't listed, doesn't mean it won't work with Revo CR.
Thanks to the Creality-specific thermistor. Revo CR is compatible with the firmware on almost every stock Creality printer! However, you may have to replace/modify parts or adjust the Z limit switch for full use.
Wiring Best Practice
- To avoid putting strain on the HeaterCore cables when the printer is in motion, leave some slack in the wires. Repeated pulling on the HeaterCore cables may result in damage to the HeaterCore.
- Do not have tight bends in the wires immediately before the connectors. Tight bends near the Molex connectors can damage the crimps.
Avoid messy or tangled wires with lots of sharp bends.
Avoid sharp bends in close proximity to the connectors.
- Use the stock Molex connectors unless otherwise specified in an official E3D Upgrade Guide. Please note: As using butt splices is specified in the upgrade guide, Revo CR is exempt from this point
- If you experience temperature fluctuations, check your crimps at the connector to ensure they have not opened up. It's a subtle difference, but it can lead to an intermittent connection, so it needs to be correct.
Good Crimps
Bad Crimps

If they have opened up, you can attempt to close them. A pair of tweezers or a very small flathead screwdriver can work.
- If there are tight bends in your wiring, especially near the connectors, consider using our printable connector clips. These clips help to prevent movement at the joints between the HeaterCore and Extension cables, which can lead to sudden temperature fluctuations. You will need some cable ties to secure them.
